Same here. Any plans for a 2013 adventure. I quite like the idea of a Scottish highlands tour. Amazing scenery, good roads and plenty of opportunities to sample the local hooch! I think this time of year would be ideal. The weather is usually pretty good and as we approach the summer soltisce it doesn't really get dark. Plus the infamous midges aren't out in force. Anyone up for it?

Mark, sounds great. Sadly I won't be able to make a 2013 event as I have promised to concentrate on other things... but by the time 2014 approaches I'll be getting something organised I'm sure. In the meantime I'd take a great interest in your plans and itinerary for the BXploration of Pictland... ;)

Don't think it would be the same without you on board. :( I'm hoping it will coincide with the Haggis open season. ;)

I'd be up for a highlands tour, or a Welsh mountains one. I'd imagine numbers could be up due to (hopefully) lower costs, mainly because less distance will be involved.

To take one of Phil's ideas for the future, we could base ourselves at 1 site for a few days to use as a base while exploring a particular region, perhaps using 2 or 3 bases over the course of the week (or however long it lasts).

It's been many years since I last ventured into Scotland, but I may be able to do an internet search for suitable campsites (with suitable B&B's nearby for those who don't do canvas) if there are others out there interested in doing such a trip. Whether I could actually take part myself will depend on what dates suit everyone, but with possible trips to Spain, France and the Czech Republic next year (funds permitting) I'm not exactly stuck for holiday options!

We could try and do a British tour. I'm sure me and Mat could come up with some entertaining Welsh roads and if someone else did a bit of England and someone else a bit of Scotland, people could decided to do all of it or just a bit. On cost grounds at the moment, I'd have to say I'd only do the Welsh bit! Given we've got some NI presence on here, there might even be an 'across the sea' option. (and maybe Ireland too?).

I'm certainly interested in a Scottish tour and perhaps venturing into Wales. I think a visit to Mull, the isle of Skye and the road to Applecross are definitely in order. My graphic skills are not in the same league as Mr Chidlows, but I'll do my best to try and plan something. Any one else's input and suggestions are greatly welcomed. I'll google some distilleries as well. :D

Cheers Phil. I'll start with some route planning. Need to google the address of some distilleries first. Lol!

Isle of Skye is a beautiful place when the sun is out. I'm also particularly fond of an island called islay, i'd live there if i won the lottery :)

Scotland sounds good, i've only ever been to Cumbrae, Mull and Aviemore but all are beautiful, and i'm starting the Munro challenge (done 4 so far :) ). If anyone wants to see pictures and stuff of Cumbrae and Mull check this out http://www.astra-mk2.com/forum/showthre ... -photos%29" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I have always wanted to explore the highlands, proper rural and wild scotland oop northe, this might be a good excuse to do just that!

Wales sounds good too! And i'd also be interested in an Ireland adventure. In 2009 my partner and I toured the 4 compass points of Ireland (N+S of course) by push bike, and wild camping. It took 2 weeks, and we did roughly 120k a day, it was very hard work but the Irish people are so lovely and helpful, and the country is beautiful.

So then, Mark (and perhaps myself??) to plan Scottish adventures and perhaps Ian and Matt to plan a Welsh equivalent the year after? I'm getting all excited now :D

Calm down dear! Scotland sounds great, as long as its when the weathers nice (if they have such a thing?), theres quite an active Scottish section of the CCC which I am sure we could probably get together with.

Tim, if could be our liason with the Scottish CCC that would be great. You got any Irn-Bru left over from your Scottish parts collection adventure? ;)

Blimey most of us just have a BX. It must cost a fair bit to own a BX enthusiast as well. :D
