Just found this- I sketched it out in 2009 - before we did the BXagon even. Funny as it shares some of the characteristics of Sandre's far more worked-out plan

- there aren't that many roads in Scotland!

To my exasperation, I've found another point where the google maps departs from the written route (I wrote A82 to A85 to Oban, which is what I meant. Silly google has assumed A828 which would commit the heinous sin of omitting Glencoe and Ranoch Moar. The damn application assumes that you'll only stop at 25 places: I ran out of 'vias' )

Also, that idea of mine is really only the 'framework'. For example, where I've suggested we do A82 to A85 to Oban, there is actually a fabulous little B road which kinda cuts off the corner (B8074) - and I'm sure there will be numerous other points where there will be more interesting little tiny roads which are only visible on online maps at stupidly large scale - perhaps the NEC is the place to pore over the paper maps and work those alternatives out

Some of the nicest roads I've been on in Scotland are the unclassified 'Z' roads.

I know exactly where you mean - I've camped along there.



NB The actual road is wider than that, I've just pulled off into one of the camping spots along it. From memory there was space for a few tents and a camp fire too...as well as a spot to swim.

I'd be up for Finland Ian! In a more Scottish note, i've submitted a holiday form and i'm getting quite excited about it! The GT should waft beautifully over all those lovely roads
