Sounds good to me Sandre. Thanks for posting it up, looks like an interesting route. Starting on the 22nd is fine by me, the longer we stay up there the better IMHO. There is a nice route up to Edinburgh, that keeps us off the motorway for as long as possible and brings us out onto the Edinburgh city by-pass and straight onto the Forth rd bridge, I've done it in the wagon a few times and it's a lovely scenic route with little traffic, as follows :-Leave A74M at jcn 13 for Abington and follow the A702 towards Edinburgh through Biggar, this brings us out onto the A720, following this onto the A902 and then the A90 for South Queensferry ( lovely spot to stop and take snaps of the Forth rd bridge ) and then over the bridge towards Perth.

*FAIL* Sorry Sandre, after re-reading your route I see you have already plotted out what I've just spouted on about. Been a hard week at the office!!

Some of the fail is mine, I omitted the A90 from the route (now edited in).

Just as a side note, the campsite at Applecross has "pods". So for those with an aversion to canvas, they can indulge in-I believe the modern parlance to be- glampimg!! :)

Something to whet your appetites!
I did wonder about coming back on the ferry from Skye, for the experience....

 As if!

Looks a great route (perhaps because it concentrates on my favourite bits too). I'm not sure about accommodation, as I've mainly done it in the van so can pretty much stop anywhere. Perhaps if Mark brings his caravan? In the wilder places you often see people pitching tents by the side of (quiet) roads, which is legal up there. But I can understand that people might want facilities like showers etc...

Looks great - some bit's I've visited in the past, but a long time ago - last time I was at Skye there wasn't a bridge! Others will be new, and I'm looking forward to throwing the GS round some more roads. It may even be all the same colour by then [-o<

It's Eilean Donan castle, just outside Dornie.

Googlemaps route :)

EDIT - Damn, just noticed it cut a bit off - Ullapool -> Applecross should follow A832 round the coast, not the shorter route that the map has suggested. Interestingly, it's totalled that as 27 hours now it's all been plugged together. Can't see it on those roads somehow!
