as a post script i got a message just as i got home to say the re manufactured gear link unit was ready for the 14RE so fix that then one of them will have to go, depends which she likes but i suspect there will be a 14RE up for sale shortly.

Way ahead of you Sandre! I saw the previous posts last night and looked up the car's history. Unless Mike can hold it for me until next May with only a deposit (unlikely, i'm sure) then it simply cannot be.

It is red (my fav car colour) and a 14 with suitcase engine (then I suppose I could have 2 14's - a TU and a 150!), I liked the TU and have an AX GT carb waiting for my TU BX, but variety is the spice of life and all that. So does sound good to me so far.

The news is she's keeping the red baron so when i get home and fix the 14RE gear link it will be up for sale i suspect it will go very quickly theres already a queue

Hi Phil,
the drive back was easy very easy it was a pleasure to drive it hummed along at a constant 75 for most of the trip i filled up when i got home 269 miles on 22.4 litres thats 54mpg just shows what light load constant throttle does for economy its better than the Juke. .The car is a great car thats the thing about BXs running right they are a great drive nice ride stress free.
