RAF Cosford visit.

After the success of the visit to Coventry this Sunday, I'm proposing a visit to RAF Cosford on the 22nd of September. From 6pm to 10pm there is a open cockpit evening, whereby access is granted to a range of iconic aircraft. RAF Cosford is in Shropshire, NR Telford just off the M54. Depending on take up I was also wondering if people wanted to make a full day of it and perhaps spend a few hours at Alton Towers. Let me know if you fancy it. Cheers. Mark.

I can quite easily live without Alton Towers, but Cosford might be of interest. Closer than Coventry! However, I'm not 100% sure I'll be free that weekend yet...

Alton towers could be a separate day out at sometime. Not sure if RAF Cosford would keep us occupied for a full day.

Nathan is quite keen for us to have another trip to Cosford as he went with school last year so we will probably be up for that. Last time we went there I spent half the day in A&E after Nathan (aged 3) stepped off a platform backwards and cracked his head on the concrete floor! Happy memories. :D

Alton Towers is not really my thing, too much of a wuss to go on the rides these days.

I'm up for a trip to Cosford, probably won't see much of anyone else if I bring the kids though

I reckon that you could certainly spend most of a day looking round the place, we only made it round the first 2 hangers on our 1st visit and we live fairly locally. You have to pay for the carpark but the museums free so it's a fairly cheap day out if you don't have to travel too far

Shall we make a day of it on the 22nd then? Meet up at around lunchtime ish. If I know how many are likely to attend I can book some places for the open cockpit evening, when you can sit in the cockpits of a range of iconic aircraft. It's a tenner for the open cockpit session. If that's likely to put people off then we can just do a day visit. Let me know what you'd all prefer.

Can't make it - again! Sorry :( Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I'd love to visit Cosford sometime though. There was talk of a Bovington visit. If this was early Spring 2013, maybe I could organise?

Are we going to need some sort of dinner plan looking at the hours? Anyone got any suggestions? Cheap is good!
