Lunch is a extra €25, so Mcbaguette it is then. :) TBH I wouldn't mind a quick visit to Cite Europe, for some wine and cheese. Phil you got any spare NF approved boozy breath testers?

From memory, the breathalysers aren't essential until November this year?

Mark, supermarket, dear God, NO ( )

Think I've got one spare (tried one this Sunday morning) so will bring it just in case.

It's unlikely you'll be checked but you can be stopped and told off if you don't have them. They'll use the excuse to search all your documents etc. so not a welcome intrusion. However I have a couple in my Bus so remind me if you don't pick up your own beforehand (£5.99 for two from Halfords).

Sandre, you may be right about the timing. I reckon, if we don't stop en route, we should do Calais Aulnay in 3hr 30mins if we get a wiggle on, assuming no hold ups...

To miss out on a quick supermarket shop would be a shame so if poss I'd like at least half an hour at Carrefour... :)

For some strange reason I can cope better with continental supermarkets than domestic ones. Sandre, I thought you found my supermarket antics highly amusing and entertaining? ;)

Mat, did it just shrug and look back at you in a disapproving way-or just blow up? ;)

I've looked at timings for the Saturday and, basically this is what I think those who are crossing on the very early train might consider:

From Sandre's (Stevenage): Depart 02:20 latest to arrive at the Eurotunnel terminal at 04:20. Cross on 05:04 train, arriving (local time) at 06:39 as Sandre said.
From there it's going to be around 3hr 10mins, I now reckon, to get to the PSA facility at Aulnay, so arrive there approx. 09:45. The tour (2nd) is at 10:45 so if we wanted to stop for breakfast/fuel en route we are fine for time. I think the tour'll finish at 12noon, so we can stand around and chat for a while before grabbing some lunch I guess - don't know where though... Thereafter so long as we leave the area by about 14:45 we can make the Cite Europe shops in time for a stint of shopping/eating/toiletting before getting to the terminal at 20:10 for the 20:50 train, arriving back in UK (local time) at 20:15. Back at Stevenage by about 22:15. Job done. :)

I think there is a fairly big town nearby which should have some shops...can't quite remember the name of it but seem to remember it begins with a P

Thanks Phil - a couple of extras:

The tour is 1.5 hours, so we'll be out 12.30. I think breakfast is served until 11 am, I was thinking drive straight through from Calais, with a quick stop (10 mins) for loo and to grab coffee and a pastry en route? - then full brekkie at Aulnay (eta 10 am if we have a pit stop I guess)

Sounds good. We still have a good hour and a half for lunch plus chatting time. Wonder if the French contingent will want a convoy of BXs to a local eaterie?

I think we should put Mr Smith incharge of that one, should be a doddle!
