The cambelt has indeed been changed recently which is a bonus, but unfortunately the tensioner hasn't so that's a job on the list.
So far, all I can see i'll need for MOT is front discs & pads and a brake bleed!
The discs ore only knackered through lack of use rather than being worn out, the pads are only contacting a small area in the centre & the rest is rust. So a quick overhaul and they should be good! The bleed is only down to the LHM running dry.
I know when Linegeist had it he speculated that he thought it had been seriously clocked to have such low mileage, well:
The upholstery is unmarked & unworn at all, the passenger and rear seats look like they've seldolm ever been used (probably mostly by Will tbh).
The carpet still has ALL it's felt pile, even in the drivers footwell (in fact i've never seen carpet so new)! Even the heel rest is completely unworn.
The pedal rubbers are consistent with the mileage, barely touched.
None of the plastics (door handles, trim, switches, handbrake, steering wheel, door bins) have ANY wear that would suggest anything other than low miles.
The front seat pockets aren't saggy, even the seat runners are immaculate.
In it's 20 year life the fag lighter & ashtray have never been used (yes, of course thats changed now

Seatbelt webbing is like new. Door check-straps have NO wear.
The rear arch outriggers are still complete with all their paint!
The engine block still has all it's factory grey paint on it as well.
Add all that & many other things to the bodywork condition and there is absolutely NO doubt in my mind the mileage is correct. That and there was nothing to be gained by winding the miles back on it!
I think most of the issues he had with it were down to lack of use more than anything else. As we all know, that can be worse than doing high miles!
Also need to remove & refit the incorrectly fitted clutch cable (or it could even be completely the wrong one or a dodgy pattern part).
I'm going to attempt to track it's history further (back beyond the "hole" of 2006 that concerned so many people) there were NO digital records prior to MOT computerisation, thats why there's a hole! I'm going to try gettins any history from the supplying dealer and the one on the number plates and see where it takes me!
As i said before, so so happy with the purchase!
