The post below is an amalgamation of posts from another forum where I'm documenting this, so please excuse it!!
She's a 1990 Phase 2 BX 16 valve, the body is absolutely immaculate underneath, paint is faded though, but it looks like it will polish up.
Engine bay was full of leaves, but the body and chassis is absolutely perfect.
The car has the wrong (A phase one) rear bumper, but there is a rear phase 2 bumper in our massive pile of BX parts so it's all good.
Plans are new liners (It has 102k miles on it so due a rebuild although the leakdown was good, it may as well get freshened up now), stem seals, new piston rings, put my spare Jenvey throttle bodies on her, Emerald K3 ecu and new hydraulic return pipes. Will make a nice retro daily driver. Should be nippy enough at that to see off most modern 'hot' hatches.
rear shot, light clusters are in the boot.

Interior is in great shape - ignore the stuffing on floor! Was from the spare interior being stacked in it

needs a good tidy up in the bay, but everything works.

Only just getting to do something to this now! Didn't get a lot done today, just started to strip down - got the new radiator in as well though.
Will be getting the head off tomorrow then the pistons out to put new rings on. Will need valve stem oil seals as well.
Then it's on with the Jenveys and the sporty inlet cam!

Made some progress today, got the head off and was pleasantly surprised by the liner condition.
A hone should be all I need to do to them before firing on the new gapless rings.
Had a bit of bother with one of the bolts, some bellend must have had at them before with a poor fitting driver and broke a bit off it. Will be replacing them anyway

liners are better than they look here

Got the barge into the garage with the lift today, got the non standard front bumper off and stuck a new door seal on the drivers side.
Bodywork won't start until after all the mechanicals are perfect.
underside of the car is completely rot free - you'd think it had been kept in a bath of oil!!
Anyway, few pics
Outside at last (You can see how well the paint is going to come up - i did a test patch on the bottom half of the drivers door, it's coming up like new, and that was the worst bit!)

in the garage at last for the fun to begin!

Got an hour this evening to get a piston out to send off to get the correct sized gapless rings.
Tightening down the improvised liner clamps

Bores are in very good visual order!!

Piston out, connecting rod off

Big ends in good order as well

In the box ready to get a new set of rings
