for those that run several cars or several bx's and do home servicing, it would work out cheaper to buy a 25litre drum of oil from your local motor factor, i.e camberley auto factors do a 25ltr drum 10/40 or 15/40 petrol or diesel of reasonable quality for about £55/60 and also would do a deal on a pack of 10 oil filters. saves a few quid in the long run.

+1 on buying in bulk, for oil, filters and anything else you know you're going to use in the end.
I haven't got round to buying a drum of oil for a while though - I wait 'til the supermarket has an offer on Total or Elf or something else I've heard of. Usually it's a 5 litre can with a 2 litre 'top-up' can strapped to it. I buy up three or four at a time. The current grey daily driver doesn't use more than about half a litre in topups between changes even with lots of motorways/heavy towing.
In my opinion/experience, if you've got a certain budget to spend on oil, spend the same amount changing it more frequently, rather than trying to extend change intervals by using 'better' oil. If you see what I mean.

I certainly buy filters etc. in bulk, but haven't done the same with oil since the days of running Wartburgs - we used to buy bulk drums of 2 stroke oil as it was safer than relying on getting it at whichever garage you fill up at.
