Many thanks for your comments Rich,very kind of you. Yes its cost me a lot of dosh as will Elsie, my GSA and Wilma. Sophie will also be going through the 'mill'. However, i have had this car done, and will be having the other cars sorted to keep them alive, stop the rot and have the pleasure of driving a 'new' old car, or in my case, several new old cars. I wont be restoring every motor i get my hands on, thats for sure but i feel its about time that a few MK 1 BXs are made to last for the future and stand the test of time. One day these will all be passed onto collectors, i hope. In the meantime, i will enjoy them.
Also, many thanks to all of you who have passed on your kind words to me and Rob's team for the restoration so far. More pictures will be posted as its not all over yet.

Dunno bud, dont think so yet, only 2 have mot's. Mollie will soon i hope, then Sophie will go in for a refit followed by Wilma. Mollie will be a sight to behold but ime not sure when she will be seen by all. Ime in the process of selling my house and moving to Cornwall. So far an offer has been accepted, [Monday last] and if i eventually get there, ime a bit too far from the rallies, especialy the X Rally in April. If i was to consider the X rally, it will be a 12 hour round trip, something i dont think i will want to do. Its just that my circumstances will have changed. However, i will promise that any MK 1 BX that i own [other than complete basket cases] will be restored properly for prosperity. And why, well, the answer will be cos i can. And, when ime really old and in my cups, someone else can love and cherish them for prosperity. Plan to love, use and cherish them awhile my self for the moment though, if thats ok!! And the DS, oh, and the GSA.

That is one of the things I enjoy about classics. I try to do my best by my cars. If I have they will outlast me and become the centre of someone else's enjoyment, be it driven, or as a collectors car. In Microcars I have a love/hate thing in the community. There are many ;Alan found' cars out there, many only rescued and made as complete a set of parts as poss and then placed with a, hopefully, good owner. I restored a few too. That does bring criticism of trading and sharp practice. Much is jealousy, I think, for it was a great lifestyle and I am an abrasive character able to live it. It is a pleasure to attend event and see cars I had restored, tidy, in use. That is reward enough.
As BX pass from banger to Classic this will happen to cars you own. the more notable characters will become part of the history, for good or ill. So investing in these things can be on a much more general scale of enjoyment than just the personnel level. What many class as a selfish hobby is in many respect not, I contend. Time comes when your out and you put a smile on peoples face. Their conversations turn to, 'Do you remember...'. After all why do some people go to the NEC to look at captured classics, if not to reminisce. Certainly belting about in the Auto has bought quite a few happy incidents and comments and I have hardly been anywhere. The BX looks so different to the average Eurobox. Its time is coming and opting for later Citroen is to miss out for the economics of bangerism as really only the XM stands out - if you can out up with electrickery.

Fingers crossed i will soon be Cornwall bound. Had an offer on my place in Sussex which i have accepted and yesterday the offer i made on a property in Cornwall was also accepted. I will be about 2 miles from Liskeard and 8 miles from Looe. All my buddies on BXC will be invited should they need a place to doss now and then, plenty of room to park motors, even busses!! off road. Fingers crossed that all the Ts can be crossed and the Is dotted.
