The bends are quite complex in that area and there is little space to twist, turn & thread. If the made-up cupro-nickel can take significant straightening and then rebending without collapsing then chances are that you can. However, removal of the original pipe can leave sharp bits adhering to the subframe and it would be difficult cleaning up that area properly without better access.mat_fenwick wrote:speaking to Plieades about it they said dropping the subframe was optional with the cupro nickel pipes, with them being more flexible than the steel originals.

I've decided to farm this one out. As long as I can get a mile away from home, my breakdown cover will take the car to a specialist.

Sounds like the same issue with the TRS estate we had, fortunately the pipes are still available from Citroen .

As with Tim's estate, and with the first BX I had, if it's a front to rear pipe that's gone, you may find the rest aren't far behind. I was told once by my local specialist that if just one pipe needed doing then they could feed it through, but more than that and it often turned out easier to drop the subframe.

Re: Rear suspension leak - front-to-rear pipe how to?
Well, I should hear later today what it's like. Investigations are ongoing. As it happens, I'm flat out with work, so the chances of me doing anything about it at home are entirely zero.

When I worked in a dealership and also replacing the pipes on our estate . It was always remove rear of exhaust ,remove ht corrector pivot and lower down the left hand side of the subframe ..Loads of space then to do the pipework.
