WANTED: BX Auto
WANTED: BX Auto
Hello to you all.
A couple of years ago I was on the look out for a BX Automatic and didn't have much luck so I went with a Xantia instead and now after two years of motoring, its moved on and I am now determinated to finally get my first BX.
I am looking for a runner with at a MOT on it, if its not cosmetically perfect then I am not that fussed as it will give me something to do on Sunday afternoons . Has to be an automatic due to......being old and broken.
I am based in South London but would be willing to travel a reasonable distance.
I will be honest and say my budget does not extend to the £1,995 for the lovely TRS on fleabay but neither do I expect to pay £100 for a car.
Cheers
Tom

Re: WANTED: BX Auto
Dear Tom,
Well done on your superb choice of BX Tom, the automatics are a real joy to drive and maintain aswell.
The Xantia,s are a lovely looking car to own and drive, but in my opinion the BX is better looking car and is more of a " magic carpet " feeling when you drive them.
Good luck in your search Tom.

I had a C5 before the Xantia so I am going backwards
I no longer need a car to commute so basically I am looking at something to dote after and maybe make it take me to the shops once a week.

No rush whatsoever, if you wouldn't mind PM'ing me a few details about the car beforehand that would be great ( I will get the bib on standby!)
Cheers
Tom

Re: WANTED: BX Auto
If I was thinking about another BX (which I really try not to ) an 8v GTi auto would be perfect. The down-side with that one is that the fogs aren't yellow; you can't have everything. TBH I'd have it over that blue TRS on ebay; half the price too.Tim Leech wrote:Phils old car, it was gorgeous!
Re: WANTED: BX Auto
When I was last in there a month or so ago Remy said it had been sold, but no harm ringing to see if it has actually gone. Well worth £900-£1000. Not perfect but a very nice car and I only asked about it because the paintwork is so much nicer than on my GTi which is the twin of this one except mine hasn't got aircon. But then I thought mine has done a lot less miles and I know how much work has been done to it over the last 11 years...Paul296 wrote:http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C370675" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;citronut wrote:didnt philipy/Reme at Medway Citroen have a supposed really good Auto BX for sale recently

Re: WANTED: BX Auto
Hey chaps. Is this the blue TRS auto referred to earlier?
Any thoughts on it?

I'm equally tempted but as another South Londoner, I don't fancy the trek up to Preston to find a bag of bolts. It does, however, look nice in the piccies and a good spec too. In my youth had a 1.6TRS auto hatch and then a 1.9TRS manual estate. Both were fab but I preferred the slush of the auto. The box on mine went ga ga in the end and I couldn't afford the £1000+ to replace it (sorry, I don't do oily things before anyone says I could have done it for a fraction of that, plus it was in the early 1990's when the cars were far more ubiquitous and thus spares weren't so cheap). Anyway, enough of the history lesson...anyone nearer to Preston or recognise the car as that of another aficionado?
Gary
