Re: I've Blue TZD turbo hatch
It wouldn't be the only TD hatch to sell at over 2 grand in the last year or so.

Re: I've Blue TZD turbo hatch
I think the seller bought it at 2995 and there was a queue behind him. It'll shift I reckon.

Have to say, I really don't like the silver speedlines. Dark grey would suit it. I don't like the price either, but doesn't mean someone won't be happy to spend that.

Spending a lot on a car to maintain it does not jump up the market value!

My thoughts exactly.Defender110 wrote:Tim Leech wrote:Plus hes spent alot on it.

We have all spent money on our BXs, some more than others but we have all had to do it to keep them on the road.
If he spent nearly 3 k to buy it i feel someone saw him coming!! I would possibly pay a price such as that for a rare BX and it would have to have had really low mileage, say a few thousand, not 70k.
I dont think he will achieve what he wants because of the mileage and its not that rare yet.Its not as if its just like a 'new' motor. And as for a better one Tim, having seen WTF, that in my mind was better.

Re: Ice Blue TZD turbo hatch low mileage FSH.
The 'market value' is what someone is prepared to pay for it. The current owner was prepared to pay 2995 (I seem to remember?) and he pipped a few others at the post who were waiting in the wings with a suitcase full of cash. I expect that car to move for 23, 24 something like that. In the context of used cars in general that's not a great deal of cash. It'd buy you a raggedy old C3 - if you fancied one - I wouldn't. Admittedly the mileage isn't that low, but the TZD is as fully loaded as BXs got and the engine makes it even more desirable. I don't know of another TZD out there that's that good?
Looking at that St. Tropez languishing on ebay at the moment however, it's looking like the current upward trend of BX prices is tending to higher spec. models only. Not having PAS is a bit crap

+1! Otherwise the TZD Turbo I sold (with 4 new tyres, 2 ball joints, front wheel bearings, rebuilt driveshafts, front brake pads plus a complete fluids and filters change, recent cambelt and octopus) would have fetched more than a grand! Fair enough, it had 20k more miles and was an estate hence perhaps less desirable but even so now looks cheap in comparison.Defender110 wrote:Spending a lot on a car to maintain it does not jump up the market value!
But there's nothing wrong with a seller putting it for for sale at a speculative price - if someone wants to pay that, nobody is making them!

I agree that what you spend on a car is neither here nor there. Hopefully, I'm about to spend a considerable sum on my Hurricane - will I see a return on that if I ever sold it? Very unlikely over the next couple of years. Long term? Who knows?

Re: Ice Blue TZD turbo hatch low mileage FSH.
WTf was lovely and maybe in better condition, but that was a 16, this is a TZD turbo what most people see as the ultimate BX, maybe he is asking too much, we shall see.
But having spent money on the bearings/cambelt etc means that when factoring in the overall purchase price this one is pretty much ready to run and afaik doesnt need any work at all except a few small bits of detailing.

For the quality of the car I'd say it is priced fairly. I've never seen a bargain on the C&C website, but with 2 and a half grand to spare it wouldn't be a bad purchase? Probably too good for a daily driver now though?
