I'll need to visit a wash on the way down, as it WILL be covered in mud even if I wash it before setting off!

Re the electrickery - anybody got a rough figure for the number of hot drinks bought at the show last time? Take that price off the £80(?) for a socket and then we just need to decide whether whatever the extra is, is worth it to show the cars in a better light?

I could bring my gas stove but I somehow think that there'll be HSE regulations that would make that problematic. On the other hand, I have a kettle and toaster good to go. Anyone got a camping fridge to keep the milk fresh?

I've got a pretty decent 12 V one, but that would need me to bring a suitable power supply as well. I was thinking of bringing it anyway if we have power, as I only drink cold drinks so count me out of any tea calculations!

A quick thought.....do the cars have to have their batteries disconnected?

Oh, and any recommendations on Travelodges etc just in case I decide to stay there overnight?

Cheers

Yes they do ask once the cars are parked that they are disconnected although noone checks. You do need to reattach them ready for the end of the show when the customary blowing of all the horns signifys its time to leave (its very loud)

There's a few which are nearer to the NEC (and cheaper too!) which is important if we don't have transport. Wondering about using the van to take the BX on a trailer so I could camp in the car park, but by the time I've paid for trailer hire, extra fuel and another month's road tax it'd be about the same cost.

Camping isn't allowed on the NEC site Mat. Although I was speaking to Nigel Wild at the National and he said he parks his GMC R.V. around the back and just tells security he is unloading for the CCC stand.

I was planning on having a monitor in the car with BX vids etc on the go, and using the car's sound system as the sound for the videos. Sounds like I'm going to need electrickery too.

Just checked and some Travelodges are only about £35 per night (if you go with the no-refunds risk).

Debating whether to take the 16v and the estate up on the Thursday with a mate/wife etc, and bomb back down Thursday night and just commute it daily, or whether to stay some/all nights. I'd probably still bring the estate up as otherwise I'm walking 3-6miles each way, or getting a taxi etc.

Some thinking to do!

Thanks for the offer Tim. Even so, I was planning to be as close as possible so as not to inconvenience anyone and give the possibility of a walk/cycle in.
