Very good of you Tim, and I'm definitely up for a meal out (pizza sounds even better) but I might still bring a car in case I have to bomb it back down unexpectedly for one of the kids or something.

OK folks, gradually getting 'back in business', thanks to Paul for keeping the home fires burning etc. No-one can nag quite like I do, so here goes:

Please, we need to know ASAP if you will be coming and spending time on the stand so we can work out tickets and/or parking ticket "allocations". Please post it here and m^Hy^H P^HA^H I will ask Paul cough to keep track of what's available after exhibitors and biggest donors (seems only fair) have been sorted out. There is some flexibility on having different numbers of tickets on different days - did I say WE NEED TO KNOW if you are coming and will be volunteering on the stand?

Second - we do not have quite enough money yet for carpet (or NEC-approved tape to stick it down with). Paul will generously be making up the shortfall. This means we will not have enough for electricity I'm afraid. If anyone is able to open negotiations with 2CVGB to go halvsies I'll see if my finances will take the strain for that despite the best efforts of J119 to bankrupt me the last couple of weeks? - thanks.

Um, I think that's all the nagging for now. Except 'please send money' if you a) haven't already and b) are able (and we might be able to get electric of our own :))

Finally, please let me remind anyone/everyone that you can get cheaper entry tickets by using the code - posted in the 'Anything Else' forum as we're not supposed to post it publicly. If you, your friends, neighbours, gardner's aunt, whoever, bring us the counterfoils at the NEC we can claim a little bit of cash back from those which will go to future events/stuff for the club.

Thanks all.

Hi Sandre,

I'll be there every day on the stand (assuming I can wander off and look around every now and then?). And what's the current shortfall on electricity?

Wandering off is positively encouraged, go talk to random people and tell them your car is better than theirs and they should go to the BX Club stand and check it out. Seriously, as long as there's a couple of people on the stand at any one time, absolutely check out the show/autojumble/car park: we are supposed to be doing all this for fun after all.

I can be there every day, but am wondering about leaving Friday afternoon until Saturday afternoon? Do I get a pass as an exhibitor, or is that extra?

And would anybody want to go halves on a room? Best price I've got is £131 for Thurs/Fri/Sat night but am trying to find an independent place I stumbled across last week...can't find the website now though :( Whenever I've stayed at the NEC before it's always been for work, so I was slightly less worried about the costs

Right guys, who's willing to give it one final push for the electricity?

I'll chuck £20 in the pot if five other people can match it. That'll see us through to having power, which I think is really important (tea.....TV screens.....tea......and tea)

Wander about on the Friday, it's MUCH quieter. You'll barely be able to move on Saturday, so hole up on the stand instead.

Mat - exhibitors get passes. If you're not there a particular day, Sandre can dole yours out to someone else.

I'm afraid I'm in Ireland that weekend, so can't help this year. I do have to come up beforehand though in order to drop off banner and laminated brochures - let me do a quick check on when I'm free to do this then we can try to work out who's the best person for me to hand these on to.

Just a word of warning on the TV: sound costs extra as we need a performing licence. So it's pix only I'm afraid.

Accounts to be posted at the weekend :)

I'd think long and hard about electricity. In my experience with other clubs, it can be a pain in the backside, and expensive. 2CVGB just don't bother with it anymore. Far better to buy food/drink outside the NEC, and club together for the occasional cup of tea (I do like tea myself and I can cope!). If a few of you chuck a few fivers into a pot, you'll have a fair ol' tea fund.

^ Yep, I'm inclined to agree with that Ian. 80 quid seems alot for a weekends 'free' tea.
