Amazing "showroom" condition!
Clearly a cherished and rare model example.

One word: WOW! That's a very beautiful car you have there Fernando and a very warm welcome to BXCUK. As others have pointed out, the BX Sport was never sold in this country - much to everyone's disappointment - so it'll be great to hear more about you car. A word of warning: we WILL be jealous!

All Sports had it on the 'wrong' side Kevan - SMs too.

Indeed, RHD sports weren't possible due to the reworked head and carb/exhaust set up fouling the steering column.

I've got a feeling that they were converted to rhd Kevan?

No RHD factory cars at all - I think there were one or two DIY conversions though - Australian I think. If you win the lottery Kevan that's probably not going to be a problem.

nice paint for a red one. i suspect a respray? red ones struggled with the english sunshine let alone the spanish. but none the less a very nice bx indeed, why were these not sold on the uk market?

As Tim says - twin (?) carb/exhaust set up which meant they couldn't be converted to RHD.
That looks like original paint to me - I dunno' it just looks . . . original.

Red cars DO keep their shine if cosseted. Theres a Mk1 C plate 16TRS which has had one father/son owner from new and gleams! its never had paint afaik.
