Pluto's TGD estate - Progress!!

I've been tinkering away for a fair few weeks now (on and off!) and finally feel like I'm making some good progress :D So I thought I'd share some pictures of my efforts!

She has now had all return pipes changed, including both octopuses, all new spheres and the doseur valve changed for a good one! I have rubbed down and resprayed the tops of the doors and all around the glass areas in black, fitted some tinting to the rear windows and refurbished a set of speedlines I got from eBay and fitted those too (they are seriously tight on the rear, the side walls are millimeters away from the inner arch, is this normal?). Last but not least, I fitted the interior out of a txd that was headed for the scrappy. The paintwork has had a T cut and polish and has come up fairly well!

I still have a list as long as my arm to bring her up to immaculate condition, but so far so good I think!

Looks amazing. Nice work :) It will be a very tight fit on the rears with 6J's. Some advocate teasing out or cutting away at the inner lip of the arch.

Thanks!

I had a panic when the garage swapped the tyres over for me and I could see that in the high position it just wasn't going to clear when it lowered. I managed to 'manipulate' the arch by hand just enough for it to clear the side wall of the tyre. There is litterally only a couple of mm clearance (which I'll sort out soon) but it's not catching at all at the mo.

A few mm's clearance is normal, mine is tight enough with 5.5j's with 185's on, only about a quarter inch clearance max. Just keep an eye on the rear arm bearings if they start to wear rubbing on the inner arches is inevitable. That does look rather good, nice work there.

I seriously hope you didn't part with any cash in Halfrauds ?

Looking good! The arches are tight on the estate, and in my experience the 5.5j GTi wheels fit much better.

Not a penny! That is an unfortunate background in the first picture!

That looks really smart, quite like the tinted windows. The wheels look great too.

Looks wonderful, that is the best looking BX I have seen in a long time. I didn't used to like estates but they have really grown on me since seeing Matt Fenwick's version, yours just needs a splitter on the front to complete the look now.

Lovely looking car! Did you do the window tints yourself? If so, was it difficult? I think it really improves the look of the estate you see, wouldn't mind doing mine if I ever get it going properly...

I had the windows tinted by a company local to me in Chichester called Twilight Tints. The guy has been doing it for nearly 20 years and mine was the first BX he had ever done!

As defender110 said, a front splitter would be nice! If anyone has one for sale then please do let me know.

Thanks for all the positive comments, it's nice to be able to show the car to people that appreciate the looks of a BX!!!

I love the look of the BX, even now after 20 years of ownership I think they have style, my 19TZI which is also white has speed lines on it which will be going in prior to the National to have redone in 16v colours as yours looks the business.
