Would like white 4 x 4 if available. If no others want them I would take red one as well and prob make one from two depending on condition of the cars. If they are good then perhaps take the battered estate for spares for those 2. Mate interested in Bond Equipe, Herald and bikes if they are up for grabs.

OK, its been a while, so time for an update on this thread.

By the end of today, both of the Ford Cougar cars will have been removed from the site, and access is now much improved.

A key and the logbook have now been found for the white Bx.

I remain optimistic that keys will be found for the rest of the Bx cars. Though from memory I am fairly sure that logbooks are not present for the remaining 3 cars.

Now the bad news, having cut away some more vegetation from around the two estate cars, they have both got fairly advanced rot on the outer sills, and it is starting on the inner sills of the estate car that does not have a dent in the roof.

Fortunately the hatchbacks do not seem to be affected nearly as badly, and rust on the o/s sills of both is mainly surface rust and minimal at present, I have not yet been able to look in the boot area of the hatchback cars (another well known rot spot area)

I will once again be contacting those (via PM) that have expressed interest in these cars to confirm who wants what, etc.

The Red Gti hatchback was collected yesterday, and after some hedge cutting work and replacing all 4 of the flat alloy wheels and tyres with some steel wheels and tyres that held air, recovery was relatively easily despite having no keys.

This car may even go back on the road at some point in the future, as a more detailed inspection under the car once up on the car transporter revealed it to have far lees body rot than was previously thought. The only downside was the exhaust system which was as expected beyond repair, though the downpipe may be recoverable with care.

Arrangements will now focus upon removal of the White Gti 4x4 hatchback, for which I already have made provisional arrangements with another forum member to take this car on.

OK folks, time for another update.

Both the GTi 4x4 Hatchbacks have now found a home, and their new owners have even had them running.

Unfortunately no takers as yet on the two 4x4 Estate cars, so if anyone can take these on it would be a good result all round.

Both cars are now mobile, as I have replaced the wheels and tyres with ones that hold air, and the ignition locks have been removed, so both these cars can be pulled up and onto a trailer.

The site has now been extensively cleared, and access is much improved from what it was at the start of this project

Time is very much running out for these cars as they are now the last cars but one left on the site, and if there are no takers then its a certainty that they will be collected by the scrap man, after I have stripped them of the 4x4 parts

I hate the idea of a rare car getting scrapped, but I'd be interested in the front wings, doors and bonnet (if straight) from the best example respectively, plus many interior bits. I'm reluctant to have the cars collected purely for me to break them, as it'd break my heart.

I wouldn't have time to restore either of these, but they'd help my mk1 TRS and another red ph2 16v that I have find a hope of seeing the road again.

Time for an update on this thread.
Having just returned from holiday, all of the cars including the two Citroen Bx 4x4 Estate cars have now finally left this site, which happened in the last week of November.

After been severely (and I mean severely ) messed around on the Citroen Bx Facebook page by persons who promised to collect these cars, then ducked out at the very last minute, I regrettably had to let the rougher example of the Estate cars go for spares, and it went to Chevronics, who were honest about what they intended to do, i.e. break it for spares to keep other examples running. So anyone needing unique 4x4 spares could contact them directly.

The remaining 4x4 Estate has been moved to a near by temporary location (at my expense), and is still available for anyone who is seriously interested.

The property at which these cars were located is now on the market, hence the last minute push to get these cars away from here.

In the last photo you can see the Bx that went to Chevronics for spares.

Finally is anyone up for any of the following: Citroen Bx Turbo Diesel hatchback white (bodywork looks quite good, apart from light accident damage to NSF door, front wing, and inner wing liner. The engine starts easily with no smoke after warm up, goes up and down on suspension, and with no obvious LHM leaks), Ford Cougar V6 cars x3, and a Ford Escort Chairman van (bodywork reasonable for age, fitted with a 1300 CVH complete with the dreaded Ford VV carb. All of these are another batch of vehicles that need clearing from from a location in Pangbourne (where the A329 runs alongside the Thames) in the very near future, who are also owned by the same person as the the BX 4x4 cars.

Kevin, its good to read a happy ending (mostly) to this challenging task to save some unique BXs.
Its all credit to you as just the thought of clearing out the totally overgrown garden would have deterred most people from even thinking about taking this on. I hope you can drum up some final interest in the last one remaining despite your FB experience.
That house looks almost desirable now. I didn't realise it had a garage at the back due to the 10 foot high brambles.

Thanks Kevin, i will be on the phone to chevronics first thing in the morning. It's the fuel sender unit i'm after, mine is cracked , i've repaired it but would be happier with a replacement.
