Smooth peanut butter works well but I've use Back to Black on fading black bits. Another one I've used is (I think it's called) Black Chrome polish. I've got some on the shelf, I'll check what it's actually called tomorrow.

Prefer it to the Lamborghini, like Signor Gandini!

Hot air gun! Maybe take the mirror glass out first as it could crack if you get it too hot

This is the stuff I got. Thinking about it I bought it when I had my GTi all those years ago.

I didn't take it out, it didn't crack, but it was a risk I was willing to take as the reflective is starting to come off.jamescarruthers wrote: ↑Sat May 23, 2020 9:30 am Maybe take the mirror glass out first as it could crack if you get it too hot
Almost disappointed it didn't crack.

I was being a bit thick and misunderstood your first post, I thought 'fire' was the name of a polish you were using to compare to the silicone on the other side!Vanny wrote: ↑Sat May 23, 2020 2:45 pmI didn't take it out, it didn't crack, but it was a risk I was willing to take as the reflective is starting to come off.jamescarruthers wrote: ↑Sat May 23, 2020 9:30 am Maybe take the mirror glass out first as it could crack if you get it too hot
