148000 kms which is around about 90000 miles, has MOT until June

A good clean and some better photos would help!
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Welcome. What have you got lined up for it? 🙂
Prefer it to the Lamborghini, like Signor Gandini!

Just insured and taxed and driven 10 or so miles to fill up with petrol.
More to follow.. but have a view to generally drive this car as regularly as possible whilst carrying out programme of general servicing, debugging and cosmetic improvement. It's very much "all there" but has not been helped by standing outside for almost a year and doing very few miles.

Driven about 400km now.
Passed MOT on Monday - no advisories 😊
Gave it a fairly thorough checking over beforehand and had a nice "little" list of jobs to do..... (not all MOT essential but still needed doing)
Steering rack bellow disintegrated, the intermediate one behind PAS hydraulic ram. Febi 18042 fits excellently.
Centred rack, greased rack n pinion and set up tracking to 25' toe out (Haynes) - Now drives straight - veered strongly to left before.
Got brake lights working - dry contacts in pedal switch. Non-serviceable item so I opened it, cleaned up and reassembled. Now fine.
Got RHR indicator and tail light working - dry contacts at cross-over wire plug at LHR lamp unit.
Horn not working - bad earths at horns and bad switch. Non-serviceable switch so I opened it... etc.
Headlamp flasher switch intermittemt. Non-serviceable item.... ditto..... etc.
Fitted better h/lamp bulbs (old ones gave very fuzzy and different from each other beam cut-offs). Set headlamp alignment by time honoured road test method.
Hydraulic service - fully stripped and cleaned tank, filters and tank insert. Filled with Hydraurinçage (last ever can? Been lurking in my garage a while!) and bled through all 4 brakes. Due to leave in for "1500-5000km".
Done engine oil and filter and air filter.
Sorted out air inlet ducting which was chaotic, leaking and collapsed from overtightened jubilee clips.
Gunked and pressured washed engine bay and front subframe. P/washed entire underside of car. There is basically NO corrosion on body shell of this BX. I will apply a light coat of Bilt Hamber underbody clear to any vulnerable looking pipework.
P/washed all wheels - substantial mud had built up inside rear rims.
Found original undriven on Mich MXL spare. Still has light moulding fins across tread! I'm not even sure it has ever been out of the cradle. There is a hard brittle patch of tread where it is most warmed and cooled by exhaust silencer and deep grooves where cradle has permanently formed the side wall. 39 years in situ?
Gave the top a fairly quick going over with AutoGlym SRP. Door handles and mirror backs with Meguires black trim restorer. Now looking quite presentable. Numerous scuffs, chips and minor dents do not stand up to close scrutiny.
Just started deep cleaning interior.
