Project "save the 16v" begins
Some may remember recently I advertised a grey ph2 16v that was going cheap while in need of some fairly major work.
Well response to that was slow, so I decided to work with the owner and fix the old girl up into a real beauty. It won't take much, its already in very very good condition.
I got back from work at started out at half 7 this evening. Realised we had some fairly rare Citroen machinery sitting outside in one go:
(Thats AX GT, BX 19GT and two ph2 BX 16vs, all taxed tested and insured aswell!)
The grey one is the car in question.
With the engine still sitting in the boot of my red 16v having picked it up from Toddman (thanks again).....
.....it stayed there. I had to lift it in alone and I didn't fancy lifting it out again today!
I also went and swore about motorcyclists....again after looking at my windscreen once more:
Work began on the grey 16v. I drove it in, with the bottom end knocking its nuts off. Up onto ramps and removed front bumper and grill for better access.
Once back on the ground, out came the cooling fan, rad, intake manifold with coil, idle valve etc. Airbox and AFM also.
Ended up with a nice little collection of bits in the garage.....which had to go into the car overnight so it could squeeze into the garage too!
And at 9:20pm I decided to go in and get some munch. Couldn't be arsed after that.
Next stop....weekend. Transmission parts, hydraulics and engine removal.

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!
Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Club hammer? That's a Citroen Special Tool that. Also a trusty BL tool known in the trade as the BFH.docchevron1472 wrote:A mechanics best friend!Baldbazza wrote:I like the subtle addition of the club hammer in the engine shot

Good luck with the car Kitch. If I ever want to carry out an engine swap, I'll know who to call!

The guy gave me a number of a company who might do it cash in hand....can't imagine it would be cheaper than the car though.
