I can see that the slides are painted. This isn't how they ought to be so I would be very careful about bidding for these items, that is, I wouldn't!

What difference would that make Tom ?
Once bought a pair of recons locally (brand unknown) - painted yellow all over - had no problems whatsoever with these calipers ?

I got a brand new one from M&M in Holmfirth a few months ago for considerably less than half what this seller wants for two. Genuine part too, well packed and quick delivery, I think they said they had some more knocking about at the time so probably worth a call if anyone needs one.
It has to be said they were also extremely helpful and polite too.

Although I would have thought this too, many of the calipers I used to sell at various factors were like that and they worked fine.
The paint rubbed off fairly quickly if it needed to, although alot had a bit more float in them. Couldn't remember the brands though, some were Delphi. But throughout thie entire world there are only a handful of hydraulics specialists....they recon them and send them out in various different boxes for different brands.

There are such big forces from the vibration and heat in the brake pads that a layer of paint wont hold the pads. Not even rust can hold the pads here. Its always the slider bushes sliding un-evenly or getting dry that makes for un-even pad wear.
