I dunno where Parkers are getting their valuations then.

And WhatCar? valuations are even more pitiful than the figures I posted above. :? :?

I think they consider a price, treble it, add some random figures and then divide by the amount of times they`ve actually ventured near a car auction.

Ahh the parkers guide, the bain of any salesmans life, if you consider a parkers guide costs £5 and glasses £50 then you get the idea, a 1999 XM 2.1TD Auto VSX estate car (top of the range) retail is £2700 with approx 70000 miles on it.

I can well imagine that being a mare Tim. Everyone over values their car and expects miracles in part-ex prices. If it were up to Joe Public to decide the prices all the car manafucterers and dealers would have gone bust years ago.
About the only thing Parker`s are any good ofr is if selling on eBay so you can quote their ridiculous prices and hope a punter believes them!

When you get into specialist cars like this its worth what somebody is prepared to pay for it.

I've had offers of over a grand for my TZD, whats the glass's guide price for that?

Nope glasses guide only goes back as far as 1999 "S" plate cars, however the cap online does have a BX on there, however the most any of thems value is £150.

Agreed any old car is worth what someones prepared to pay for it. In truth we very rarely take any older cars in unless someone wants rid and we giv ethem a token jesture of a couple of hundred quid which is written out of the profit of the car they are buying, as the auction cost sometimes outways any value in the car itself.

I didn`t see them in this month`s CAP black though I`ve only just discovered they do older models too.
