Despite the rain we managed a small but dedicated gathering. A report and pics to follow.
Oscar deserves our sympathy though, as his TZD trbo's alternator gave up. The car's still there, and Oscar got a lift from an extremely generous 'Cacaolat', to get back to his ailing wife. Not a brilliant turn of events for Oscar, but a genuine pleasure to meet up anyway. More later.

Don't tell Tomken newbold wrote:Now in this case, stuck miles from home with no spare alternator there was only one option.
Hit it with a hammer.
Don't despair, this got my TZD home from Southampton one time. The shock dislodges the carbon brushes so they will meet up with the commutator again.

Now i thought every BX owner had Breakdown cover??? I'm ok as long as wifey is with me as its only her thats covered. I tried to go for that Halfords offer of 3mths for £1 p/m, but they wanted proof that the car had been serviced recently, well i didnt have any paperwork, might try to get local garage to write one up for me

Some hastily gathered pics... it was raining and we had Oscar's TZD to worry about....
Me and Cacaolat's cars
Mnde (Mark)'s Meteor
Mark and Cacaolat (I can't remember your name sorry!!!) pondering the TZD's fate
Oscar's nice TZD needs alternator therapy. The pub were absolutely fine about the car being left there for a while.... until next weekend when I might have to give Oscar a lift, with him 'tooled up' and clutching his new alternator.... any excuse for another visit to a pub lol!
I do hope Oscar got back OK to tend to his wife who wasn't very well at all.... I hope she is feeling better and it isn't anything to cause concern.

Oh! And I almost forgot (sorry!) jrdpod was there (in an Astra, but we'll let him off ), so there were five of us there. A good turnout considering the weather and location. Nice pub. Too much a restaurant now, but I guess that's where the money is
