Could be a plan! Did I hear that you're off work next week? My next day off is Tuesday...

CHECK VERY CAREFULLY FOR RUST!

Especially the rear chassis legs, boot floor, rear end of the sills, the rear axle and the floorpan inboard of the back end of the front subframe..
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Going back in next week now Matt but sure we can sort something out between us. I'm on earlies/lates various days. I knock off at 13.30 on earlies so perhaps we could start leaving about 2.00pm one day?

Nah mate, Hurricane's are known to corrode MUCH more than any other BX for two reasons.

I've had two, and they were both holier than the vatican.

Your valver has just suffered for a lack of waxoyl underneath, alot of BX's are crusty underneath, it's not uncommon..

Something to do with the kit trapping moisture and causing/hiding corrosion iirc Doc?

Nah, it was more to do with the amount of time they were stored before sale, and where they were stored.

and the lack of decent underseal....

They may as well have kept them in the north sea!

Sounds like they used the old Austin Rover storage site off Dogger - I once had a very holy 4 year old Metro.

And perhaps the place the Cavalier Mk2 Commanders were kept too? The fun people had with them concerning bodywork and electrics

Havent seen a commander in years, my first ever boss had a silver (werent they all) 1.6 Saloon on a C plate, it was 6 years old and rusty as hell! Steel sports wheels and special check trim iirc.

Silver, mostly (if not all saloons) and all had sepcial trims. They also had months of sitting in a boggy field apparantly and consequently electrics made their own mind up at random times and the bodywork disintegrated quicker than an Iveco van left on a beach for more than twenty seconds.

Back o/t the rescue mission for this Hurricane is being formulated: watch this space!

My mate smiffy had one. It was ripe, and totally shagged out, but it was great! I loved it! Had a certain charm about it.

Rob, nice work with the underseal, I just get the air line out when I can be arsed and smother everything in waxoyl. Messy, but cheap!
