You've neglected to mention the time wasted when some idiot put in the rear arm bearing race the wrong way round...
The CD player is connected and working well - it does make a difference to the clarity of the sound so I am well pleased!

Did the following today, cleaned out the lhm tank & siphoned off the lhm, most of it looked surprisingly ok, whilst the bottom section was seriously full of brown gunge. Also took the airbox apart as i wanted to fit a K&N filter.

The bottom section of the airbox needed a damn good clean, quite a lot of gunge/oil. Also treated both inner wings to some kurust remover which when it dried, i painted both sides with Ken's oil concoction that he'd told me about sometime ago. Both wings will need welding at some point, what a surprise :x All of this took me hours today.

I was hoping to do some other work, but i feel pretty knackered after having spent most of the afternoon in the hot sun working on this beast.

Just re-oiling the filter, i'd bought it 2nd hand for an absolute bargain. The description was that it was very dirty, what i didn't think the seller would do is just send it as is, so when i opened up the packaging a ton of black soot/dust pissed onto the floor in my kitchen

Then began the process of cleaning the filter, i've got the official kit for doing this, so it made short work of it, but i've got to say that i've never seen so much shit/grit/dead insects & gawd knows what else come out of it, but it lives to do hopefully many more miles if i can get this bitch of a car back on the road again (hopefully this year). If anyone is feeling bored because their bx is actually fault free & working, feel free to drop me a pm & come on over, tea/biscuits/beer/spares (possibly even money  ) & of course my chat is available as p/x for help/bravery

I think what i'm going to do is re-fill with hydraflush rather than lhm, as it wouldn't rise last time Mat kindly came over to do some work on it, hopefully that may dislodge some of the crap in the system which may make the beast rise once more.

What i've also noticed is that the underneath bonnet padding appears to have gone kinda mouldy & has started to fall to bits, is this usual, i guess if the car is sitting still its just getting damp which is causing this. Does anyone have a spare lying around? its a 1993 tzd turbo incase they are different. Thats all for the mo....

Sunday i visited Ken as i was already in Doncaster shopping with wifey, went round to his mate Shaun's pad, chatted about the motors etc...it was good to catch up. Shaun kindly gave me a starter motor & the plastic rad cowling, so hopefully i'll be putting those on the car if it's dry & not freezing cold. She's coming on very slowly, but at least i'm doing something on the old gal before rust gets her :o
