Yeah, I like the car but not that engine. Most BX's I've owned go well enough with just one engine in the front.

Also concerns about the suitability of the pump, if it's a 19TD :?

But yes, I do like the car.

Have retrofitted the Bosch pump on a previous TZD and it went better than with the lucas and also returned better MPG. No problems with the bosch on the 1769 engine.

My concerns are not with the brand of pump i.e. Lucas/Bosch. But the difference in engine size. 1769 and 1905cc.

Perhaps someone with more knowledge on the matter could throw some light.?

The bosch pump can be adjusted very easily to adapt to the change in fuelling requirements for the lower CC engine, but as we all know these turbo diesels are set up very lean from the factory and the slighly more fuelling allowed by the factory for the 1905cc engine positively makes the 1769 fly in my experience with no loss in economy.

As i say have fitted a bosch pump to the 1769 in the past and it was a worthwhile upgrade. :D

Hi (newbie here), Hubby and I are watching this on Ebay. We have been without a bx now for a year  it's definately the best car we ever had. We did have a Xantia prior to the BX which was a lovely car until (surprise, surprise) the head gaskett died.
