Re: TIMS BX BLOG
Although currently play has stopped with the cars as we are looking to move, well Michael (after a very happy 12 months) and I are joining forces and setting up home together, exciting but always a bit nerve racking. The new pad (if all goes through) is about 4 miles from where I live now (nearer to work though and nearer to Michaels family).
Benefits are of course as there will be two wages coming in and only one lot of bills it will mean a saving of about £500 a month (which gives me more cash to spend on cars but dont tell him that), but the house we have both chosen has a single garage and short driveway but isnt perfect for lots of spannering but we will manage.
On the plus side its a newish build, with ensuite, lovely kitchen and a quiet road and plenty of street parking.

Re: TIMS BX BLOG
Never say never Mark, as with all relationships its give and take (ha ha yes), Michael knows what a big part of my life the CCC/BX Club and my friends in them are to me and he's happy with it aslong as we arent standing ina field full of old french tin every weekend.
Eventually I would like to be able to move to a house with a bigger garage, long drive and car standing round the back but one step at a time.

Re: TIMS BX BLOG
Best of luck Tim, and best wishes to both of you.
It is a nightmare finding a half decent house too, took me almost a year so you have made some good progress there. As always our dreams are a little out of reach. Now how do I get half a dozen boats, workshop, a few cars, three or four m/cycles etc all in that....

Re: TIMS BX BLOG
As I am in the midst of moving, start chucking stuff out, or finding homes for extras now! Coo eck, what a lot of tosh one keeps. Very cathartic though. Of course a union means doubles of many things and a choice of which is best. Can be a silly source of upset. Might include cars!

Re: TIMS BX BLOG
Went to check on the GT today, no issues it seems. Ran fine and got up to temperature with no problems. I drained and refilled the coolant with fresh antifreeze and bled accordingly.
Thank god!

Re: TIMS BX BLOG
Another result today, the Xantia insurance is up for renewal again, the quote came in at £254 which is more than I pay for the BX's and SD1 together!
Anyway I tried lancaster who do the Minor and SD1 and they wanted £754!! as its not a classic car in their eyes and I have no no claims (well except the many years of classic insurance but that doesnt count)
So I rang Footman James who do the BX's to inform them of the change of address and asked them for a quote......£35 including the admin charge to change address's and put the Xantia on (its £20 normally) so that £15, yes 15 to insure it until September of this year......as its 20 years old this year it falls within their criteria.
