Thanks Phil, there is a oil leak, albeit its only a drip, I havent needed to top up since the oil change last year! Its a gearbox off job so it can wait for a bit longer, otherwise mechanically all is well.

Hi Tim !
your alloys wheels seem to be in perfect condition ! are they in their original condition or did you restored them (repolished or repainted ??)

I restored them myself, just lots of time sanding and filling, and then had them sprayed and lacquered as polishing was too expensive plus they were a bit too far gone. The black bits were doin with masking tape and a can of satin black.

Absolute beauty - really nice - As I was driving Chris Salter's 19GT at Stratford, I was really just pretending I was driving yours :)

Those alloys; did they have a specific name? I'm thinking for ebay searches etc instead of just 'BX alloys' or something. What size tyres do they take?

no , these alloys wheels have no name ! there are 2 models for bx first series ,and second series before 1990 they look the same , but there is a classic model in 14 , and another only for TRX tyres :

another model exist for the bx after 1990 with a black center /

Here the ones i own , restored and repainted but the black parts are not painted yet :

I'm really liking those wheels Remy.. I'll be keeping an eye out for them turning up some time in the future - are they as rare as I think they are?

Weren't there 2 versions of those wheels, metrics (which i believe Tim has) & the rather annoying non metric versions. Or have i got them mixed round??? Its late

'Years ago' my father and I had the chance of a set of these from a Citroen breaker, for very little money.

We decided not to bother as they looked 'dated' :?

Rather wish I'd been more far sighted.

I was at the same place when a sound looking mark 1 19RD estate came in. How I wish I'd saved that too. It would have looked lovely with 'those' wheels on it too :(

The wheels on my GT are the early Mk2 (late 86-89) accessory alloy wheel which are standard 14" thankfully! They are visually the same as the metric type as mentioned.
