Like DOT4 for the BX, then finally admitting they had some LHM+ at £8.99/Ltr

I know the whereabouts of a set of 6J (which won't cause a problem) Phase 1 BX 16v silver alloys. They'll need some refurbishing, but you might get them for £80 if originality is your thing... But you'll still need the bolts (allow £16 -24 from a breakers - or maybe someone on here has a spare set?)

HI mate,
Apparentley so i am told the above alloys will not fit my BX (Grey Wolf) which is 1993 19 GTI 8 valve. My local specialist advised me to only fit 5.5 J's as the wheel arches are smaller than the earlier 16 valves. Is this true, and my appeal goes on for the 5.5's!
Thanks for all the advise given, much appreciated being an amature!

Ok. 5.5's are original fitment.
But I - and others - have happily fitted 6Js to GTis (As for me: a 1991 GTi 8v and the other a 1990 GTi 8v) with 195 60 R14 tyres (mine were Pirelli P6000's) without a problem. the only issue as far as I know is with BX estates with a different (tighter fit) rear arch.
Below two GTis with 6j Speedline alloys...
I rest my case

6J wheels will fit ANY BX. End.
As stated previousley, I do have a set of 5.5J Speedlines, but the lacquer is well and truely stuffed, and they have gone powdery where the lacquer has long since met with the eliments.
I have no use for them, but I dont have any spare bolts. The last set I have are on a promise to a mte, indeed they have been for many months, really must deliver them!
If you want the wheels, you are most welcome to them, but frankly they never looked as good as 6J's, SL311's are FTW x100000000!
You could do much worse than Billys, they look great on the BX.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!
Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Hi Barry, here's some pictures of my BX alloys (thanks to Artic Steel)...
I do have the fourth (which I can get a picture of if you like) and all have matching 195/60/14 Goodyear tyres with lots of life left in them. They have suffered some oxidisation but will clean up better than pictures and are smart and different to the norm. Looking for circa £100 for all four. Thanks and regards.

Vauxhall apologist.
i had
i had 205/40/17's on my bx they were from a ford i had to use spacers to get the right et. but had no problems, but like what kitch said it makes the ride harder the bx crashes into potholes enough on 65/14's imagine a 40 profile would be like........exactly
heres a few photo's of mine before i changed to 205/309 gti speedlines 195/50/15's and there just right.

the
the only fouling i suffered was the hand brake cables going to the callipers but abit of bending of the holders and sorted!
as for the rear arches no problems as such, but it is tight and if you have dodgey rear arm bearings they'll rub the inner arch and getting the wheels on and off requires the car to be jacked quite high to make enough room to get the wheels between the arch lip and brake disc.
cheers
