Gawd, still no BX likely in the near future... but the 806 is doing OK. Wintery temps finally did fot the battery it came with, so had to buy a new one. Saved about £18 thanks to my eldest's Halfords discount, and with 640 amps it's to to the job. And then some. Found the old one was about 500A... A lot less than recommended. Would a BX TZD benefit from a heavy-duty amp battery. My guess it would... So make sure your BX is fitted with a battery well up to the job :)

Well it would seem there is the chance I'll be "with Citroen" earlier than I expected... Watch this space :)

Good news! Will it be a replacement for the 806, or more of an indulgence?

The plan is to rescue a stranded BX estate - stranded thanks to a broken clutch pedal. And get it back into a driveable state. Thursday's the day. Updates later on.

Well, the problem with trying to rush things means I've hit a snag on timing. As it can't wait until the end of the month I've hit a major snag. With the best of intentions it seems I've once again raised my hopes - and those of others - only to dash them again a few hours later. It is a worrying trend. Maybe I should just **** off and leave it to others to rescue old Citroens :(

The end of the month is only 15 days away Phil. Surely that aint a problem to the seller?
If it is, ile give him 100 quid for it and hire a trailer to go get it.

The issue runs deeper than pure timing, unfortunately. It's to do with appropriate distribution of limited resources... In other words, my lovely wife of 25 years has pointed out (quite rightly) that I have much, much more important commitments especially with our daughter starting at university etc. etc. a very disappointed Phil here, but hey... My family must come first.

As an update to Phils unfortunate timing reference above.............
Some good news is we are off to see this tomorrow evening and hopefully bring it into the fold of BX's currently being given sheltered accomodation here.
