XM MOT next week. Hope I have no problems - after all, compared with my BX it's a comparative youngster with nearly 100,000 less on the clock too!

one of Bristol 2CV's customers had a lovely 2.0CT auto Mk2 XM in black, with stupidly low miles (the dude was in his eighties) and it was mint, like, factory mint.
I wanted that car badly, but he wouldn't sell it.
I talked to him many times whenever the car came in, a real character and generally a lovely bloke, sadly he died, but the wife cant bear to part with the car, and it now sports a battered front end, wings and various dents since it's just too big for her to cope with.
I'd still have it, but she wont sell..
XM's really are very addictive indeed.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

How many miles did that do between Mot's out of interest?

About 400 I expect

Needed a bit of welding underneath this year which was advised on last MOT, not a big job but time consuming and awkward, she had a complete front end suspension rebuild this year too, both struts, bottom arms, track rods, dampers, steering rack and all relevant bushes and fasteners, mind you it drives superbly now so money well spent.

Blimey, cost per mile over a year must be HUGE in the SD1 then!

Well, the XM did just over 9,000 miles between MOT's (around 5,000 in my ownership) and has cost me £1,550 (tyres, services, spheres, belts, air con regass, CD autochanger etc. and including purchase price) plus fuel, tax and insurance. Impressed I am. Mind you, I hope I won't need to spend much between now and the next MOT!

Looking forward to many more miles. In both the lovely BX and the nicely green family car...

Every time I see your XM it makes my bowels ache with desire. Not sure if that's a good sign...

Too much information

Mind you maybe it's infinitely better than acquiring a CX... that's enough to make your bowels explode with despair!

nah, when I work out what ive spent on it 13 years its quite reasonable, plus the sound of the V8 burble makes it worth it.

Good call though, V8's do sound rather intoxicating!

That makes me feel better about the miles I do in the Granny - trouble is, anyone who can afford to actually run these motors on a daily basis can probably afford the M5 to go with it :-)
