Hi Jon

Try taking one of your switches apart they do come apart quite easily and see if the contacts are clean i suspect the problem could even be a dead spider carcase
I have had that one on mine and it caused all sorts of problems

Regards Kermit :) :)

there is nothing standard about my cars wiring. The central locking also works from passenger and driver door, and from radio remote central locking, and can work from the IR if i bthered to get a plip.

Kermit, thats whats up with my switches at the moment, they have fluff in the bottoms

I'm usually bloody good.
But today I am ON FIRE!

Really, I'm just the greatest thing ever since metal was invented!

The switches for front and rear are functionally the same.
Even in the case of backligthing fitted.

The function of the switch is to act as a polarity changer to select either direction on the motor axle.
The switch is constantly fed with both a +12V and earth to function this way.
Hence its very easy to connect a miniature bulb or LED for backlighting.

The supply for the switches are in turn fed via fuse/junction box located relays - controlled by the ignition switch.
The backligthing then follows the ignition key - not the instruments or headlamps circuits.

I hereby prescript a large chilled soft drink for you Doc !=!!

You have entirely the wrong end of the stick Anders.
I was refering to being great because I know something you lot dont.

And it has nothing to do with bloody bulbs, negatives or changes in polarity, and everything to do with me being on the money in page one of this very thread relating to the actual problem. YAY me, I'm the fricking best!

If I was any more chilled mate I'd be fucking horizontal.
Not only did I get it spot on but did a balls perfect repair on a Volvo coach yesterday and changed a HC on a BX my mate had been struggling with for 4 hours in 20 minutes.

In short, yesterday I was infact ON FIRE, I played a perfect game, and my game was strong!

Try www.gettingasenseofhumorandtakinglifelessseriousley.com dude..

Further addage:

Having just had a quick scub up in teh bathroom it would appear I was more on fire than I gave myself credit for!

Working topless (a horrid thought I know) in burning sunshine and with the MiG going flat out for sometime has resulted in one very lobsterish Docco!
I'm burnt to hell and back!

In short though, as my Jive talking dude from the Airplane films said:
Check it bleed!
Bro, was onnnnnnnnn!

Col' gota be!

K?
What the hell have I got to apolagise for?
I was just having a bit of a lightish beer fuelled moment of greatness, and shared this with the mere mortals, and I get a waggy finger!
I played a perfect game Saturday, it was a day of perfection, one of countless others of course!

Perhaps I should start typing lightheartedness in red or pink or something so people can tell the difference?!

I accept no responsability for setting fire to the coach. I mean, who the hell carpets the side walls of a fricking luggage locker? The swedes thats who! Well, PAH, I had the last laugh, no more carpet in there, and a rusty load bearing upright has been perfectley welded and replaced with a shiny perfect fitting new upright, infact the panel fit on it is sooo good it makes the whole rest of the side of the coach look rubbish!
I am teh bestest coach welding genius of EVAH so I am.

See what I did there?!

Cheers for that Mark, Jive FTW everytime!

Just hang loose blood, I can dig it, I say hey sky, s'other say I won' say, pray to J I did the same ole same ole, start acting like a pro slick, he take TCB and that, drink side run the java!

Good god no!
They dont talk jive down there anyway, it's all Ebonics now, and even then localised watered down crap.
Jive talk was brill, all this "dang beeeyatch, let me pull up to that bumper and smack that cat" crap is utter, er, crap.

Last time I drank in St. Pauls I had hair, and a large posse of brutal looking men about me.

Even the plod fear to go down there after dark now.
