For some reason mine didn't fancy the idea of all day in the car, followed by an evening with "a load of weirdy beardy Citroen freaks"...I don't know, women eh. I mean, after all she married one!

Some forward planning required:

We're on the 14:20 Dover to Calais ferry. I've no idea what ferry, but it's £86 return through directferries.com

Really looking forward to this now - just wish I didn't have the distraction of another 1000 mile roadtrip to carry out the weekend before! That one's in a Morris Minor...

BX is going to seem like sweet luxury after that!

EDIT - and I'd agree about Campanile. They are very nice.

Thanks, I thought it made the BX look extraordinarily small. (or me big   )

BX is slowly filling up with tools, I've found all the paperwork and my passport. The CB and aerial are in the car, but not wired up. In fact, I'm not sure I have anyway of attaching the aerial to the car but the way I see it, we arrive in Calais more than 12 hours before the official start, and I don't need to sleep for all of that! :D

Quite chuffed that my wife has been out in the BX and has filled the tank with Derv. Aw! Then she discovered 40 Euros in a drawer, so I actually have some money! Should buy a bag of frites...

Glad to see you're still around Tom. I know you weren't...erm...the most vigorous supporter of the concept, but thanks for the good wishes!

I've just discovered tonight that my CB won't communicate with my mate's setup, even though everything seems OK on the SWR meter. Oh well, I'm sure that something can be sorted. Windscreen washers seem to have packed up as well, 6 days after the MOT. Ho hum.

Must get on with packing...
