Well done Tim for saving another BX from being reborn as a baked bean can.

Home and safe, thanks to CCS and Doc and Mr Smith for helping refit the original seats and pick up a few needed parts. Cars a lovey example with a interesting history, having only covered 16000 miles by 2006. Recently had £1200 spent on lots of bits.

Will give it a thorough clean and post some pics up soon.

If I can find a nice 19TZD in white I may well do, with the tiny miles I do each year thought Dave (less than 1000 in each car) it doesnt make any odds. I am pleasently surprised how quiet and pokey the 16 was.

Yep......that's one of the (few) things I miss about owning a petrol-engined BX! While the Turbodiesel has plenty of "grunt", and drives superbly on motorway runs and long drags, I do miss the initial "pokiness" of a petrol.
I think I'm still hankering for another 14 really! Don't fancy going down the 16 or 19 road at the moment, with the extra tax and fuel costs....but a nicely tuned 14 would do me nicely!
Not that I'm planning on parting with Monica.....she's a good 'un!!! :D

Looks nice Tim. Such a good colour isn't it?

That pic of the valver raises a question or two:

First: What sort of down force do you get from the bins? And do the lids lift at speed? (Mind you, more luggage space I guess!)...

Well they do keep the rear wheels on the ground as I normally get lift anything over 125!, Actually they are there to keep the car cover (removed for photographic reasons 8) ) in place!

Service work all done nowincluding the rather murky looking LHM change, and no more brake pad warning lamp when I put the handbrake on!. Next on the list to to reset the front ride height as it wee bit low as it bottoms out easily and the new clutch needs adjusting as its a bit stiff in 1st and 2nd.

A good dose of carb cleaner and italian tune up has brough the emissions down nicely too.
