Actually its one of each - but the one with the problems is LHD.
Had another fiddle with the heater controls today as the pcb is exposed, power to terminal 1 (illumination) and 4 & 5 (lit up the test light really brightly) :) ,still no fan, but before I had a chance to connect 2 & 3 together I managed to blow the fuse! Guess what no 25 amp replacements. As it started raining again before I had chance to rob the other car I came back in and researched the site again and conclude (probably incorrectly) that the problem lies in the resistor? in the earth circuit, which I understand lives somewhere near the fan motor.
Unfortunately the photos posted previously which might help identify it have disappeared from the site.
Might find a dry hour tomorrow to have a further play with it.

Bridging 2 & 3 produced nothing so it might be a fan swap next
Resolved the reversing light problem though - they work a lot better with bulbs in!!!

Progress on the fan front.
Decided to swap the heater fan over with the estate, and it works!
Problem must lie in the control box which is screwed in the fan motor housing. Put fan motor from hatch back into estate - no blower!
Oddly though when you turn the control the last few degrees (5 - 10) the fan goes off - is this normal, it gives a good blow up till that point.
