You'll be using the GT for the BXagon? Good on you, might be the oldest car to enter! 2.5k miles in 2 weeks might come as a bit of a shock to it though...isn't that equivalent to about 5 years 'normal' use?

Oh dear :( Did a deal with Tim & it was only when he arrived today that i realised they were the wrong sized rims. Many apologies Tim, the upside was that we talked about cars & had a cuppa, & of course you could give your scirocco a blast.

Sorry about that mate, anyways, Tim is still after some steelies if anyone has any?

No worries Mulley, so yes please if anyone has and BX Gti rims with 185/60 R14 tyres NOT! 165/70s or 175/65s please get in touch.

If you are unsure what wheels they are, they are black with with round holes in them, same as fitted to earlier Xantias and 405s/306s etc.

Was it the wheels or tyres that were the wrong size? If it's only tyres then the error would be marginal and possibly putting up with for the Bxathon or even until the tyres wore out if they are a longer term item. Surely try a scrappy and make an offer? It's perhaps a buyers market now.
I bought a set of steelies for my Xantia over the net and got two reasonable tyres out of it. Considering the tyres it was a very good purchase....

From memory, there are about six different types of steel wheel fitted to 405s and 306s, so I don't know if that narrows it down enough.

I was under the impression that the BX steel wheels with holes in where a vaguely triangular shape, and not the round holes as found on Peugeot steels. Certainly the TZD I had with wide steels had non-round holes in them.

I can't remember David. Charlie has them for now as I have a set of speedlines for the TZD. As long as the stud pattern is the same then any 5.5j or 6j wheel will be fine. If they are behind trims then I expect there will be a plethora of suitable wheels - all the more for getting them cheap too....

Price of alloy has dropped as well as scrap metal so expect more bargains on eBay.

Late BXs had the round holes too, at least my (seemingly un-messed with) old TZD had, fitted with 165/70 14's.

No idea how wide the wheels were tho!
