Hurricane's TZD Hurricane

Picked this one up last night. Back in a Hurricane again. :D

136,000 on the clock. There are 2 White stickers, one on each side above the wheels, which look like they will be hard to get off and we don't know how long they have been on. Also a small dent next to the bonnet on the passenger side.

Everything else seems fine, no towbar, no rust that we can see, front fogs work, very clean inside, and good condition on the outside apart from the above.

The last owner was a Woman from Leyland who had owned it 3 years.

Something I never thought I would see again!

Well done, nice looking BX.8)

I'd use a hairdryer to soften the stickers before trying to remove them, I think.

You can remove those stickers with a gas cylinder brazing torch. The sort plumbers use to solder pipes. I've removed loads of those sticky L plates that way, it's easy and will not damage the paint. Use the tip of the flame and keep moving it over the entire sticker. You should be able to touch it and it will slowly get warmer and warmer (the sticker not the flame  ). Eventually it will start to crinkle slightly as the adhesive melts and will pull straight off. You then clean the glue off with household paint thinners.

Looking good! Those stickers are easily dealt with - I removed two last week from the TRD with a hot air gun and surgical spirit - about five minutes.

Well getting the stickers off took just a few minutes and was really easy, used the hairdryer and then they just peeled off. Just put a CD player in this afternoon aswell.

Heres a picture from Thursday off it now minus stickers.

Mine would of been a *Y* reg as well..........I wonder if that was the one :?

It does actually! I hadn't noticed that. Will get them looked at soon!

Nice to know about the badges aswell, will see what we can find, next scrapyard visit will probably be in a couple of weeks.

Bandit, when did you get rid of yours?

I'm still amazed with this car overall, seems like it's been well cared for over the years. It's had a Woman owner for the last 2 years according to the documents, theres a 'Diamond Womans Insurance' sticker in the window and it had another Woman owner for a few months before that one, so it probably wont have been ragged etc, I hope!

I'm wondering with those stickers on the car if it was used as a company car or something at one time.

Umm, well it would of been 97. The only real damage was a broken diff but the insurance company added this/that and the other and so wrote it off.....nice care tho!

An update on this, it's been in our garage stored dry for the past month or two whilst some spare cash becomes available to fix the list of small problems that need sorting, which will hopefully be soon then it will be back.

Also I have had no luck finding any of those Turbo D badges, been to a few scrapyards recently and found plenty of 306's but no badges on any of them.

Don't the 306 badges read 'DTurbo'? which would be wrong for the BX as I'm 100% sure they just read 'turbo'. Anybody out there with a TXD Turbo can confirm this?
