Diesels with alloys

Wondered if the diesel models TXD or TZD ever came out the factory with alloys. I read somewhere that they were exclusive to the 16v but I'm told they were an option extra available for higher-end models.

The only ever diesel to come with alloys as standard in the UK was the Hurricane, which had the same alloys that were optional on Gti 8vs and standard on Gti 4x4. They came with 5.5j silver speedlines with 185/60 R 14 Michelins from new.

So the TXD never had alloys, were they never an optional extra?

Well seeing as the TXD Turbo was the diesel GTi.....

As Tim said, alloys only standard on Hurricanes and the 5.5J's were optional on TZD Turbo hatches.
Just before the TXD was launched, the Metric 'look' alloys would still have been an option on TGS/TZS/TZD, although only really look right on Mk1's IMO.

16v ones come in silver and anthracite with polished rim, and look the same except they're 6J.

The GTI style alloys were available as an option, at huge expense.

There were some other designs of alloy wheel, which fitted narrower tyres also as an option, but they are very rare.

I have a pic in an accessorie catalogue.

Other desirable rare items that were available:

Velour carpet mats
front center arm rest,
rubber rear spoiler (saloon only)
Snow chains- could have used them last week.

and

best of all:

Boot side hatch covers- the Holy Grail of BX accessories !

Ive never seen any brochures stating that the txd turbo was a gti, i was under the impression that it was only the tzd turbo as it was the same spec as the gti, the txd has less spec than the tzd. Not that it makes any odds though, as the both weigh pretty much the same & have an identical engine....

I'm fairly sure that most BX models could be specified with just about any optional extra you wanted, just depended on how much money you wanted to spend.

Alloys on your 17D? Certainly sir, that will be £loads. Aircon on your 14RE? certainly sir, that will cost you £arm + £leg + £your first born..... hence these never actually happened.

Spotted that, but decided to go all factually correct for the benefit of tourist as in a seperate thread he thought it was a gti diesel, so wasnt actually referring to kitch's post.

I'm new to the BX. I knew nothing about it until a few weeks ago, I'm learning so that's good

this is completely off-topic but isn't the sunroof huge?
