Selling our 1.9TGD

Post by anaconda »

Hi all

Ive decided with some anxiety to sell the BX. The intention is to put the proceeds towards the costs of repairs or replacement of our campervan. We also reckon three vehicles cant really be justified, particularly as I work close to home which means two vehicles commonly left parked up.

The link shows pictures I posted last year ,a few months after purchase.

http://www.bxclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14948

Its a 1.9 diesel in excellent condition inside and out.

66,000 miles, so about 3k since I bought it in May

MOT may 2012

Tax to end Jan. I'll put another six months on it.

Full citroen specialist service history

Starts first time, every time

Used most days on short jauntS, occasional longer weekend journeys.

New accumulator sphere

New speakers

I touched up some small surface bumper marks and have the exact match paint to be included.

Two small rust areas at base of rear door frame. Nothing else. Some scratches to the black rear spoiler/strip that I didnt get around to painting.

Its hard to imagine there are too many better examples around, which is why I bought it in the first place. Its been a pleasure to own and I'll certainly be back some time for another!

I'll take £675 which is slightly under my original purchase price. Ebay/Classic car sales otherwise.

Regards
John

A nice example there. Bosch pump too for those of a veggie/WVO inclination.

Hi

Yep Jon bought the car this evening. Good to see it go to another enthusiast. In fact it wouldnt have gone to a 'lookin for any low mileage bargain' buyer.

Tim, Jon did mention his intention to..er.. use the site facilites! Kevan, I called earlier, PM sent.

I'll be sad to see the car go, but i'll be back for another before too long. In the meantime hopefully a few campervan adventures this year.

Thanks to the regulars for the advice offered to this non mechanic.

Tim, you know I'm going to have you on speed dial now....

Yes would have loved this one but the Christmas finances wouldn't allow until 1st of the month + realisticaly I would have had to get rid of one of my others which isn't an option.

Good luck with the camper John and will jon be joining us on the forum Tim?

Had a look at this car today, a very tidy example it is too and Jon is quite happy.

If it were me I would be a little dissapointed there was no mention that neither the heater blower nor the rev counter works, theres no radio (the old is in the boot and the wires have been chopped) or the 6 months tax that was going to be put on was'nt even though Jon paid the full asking price.

I do appreciate its a 20 year old car and is overall a tidy example.

Rear arm bearings are shot (not mentioned either) which makes it rather bouncy.

With a little TLC will be a great car, its in for a service/cambelt on Wednesday Jon tells me at his local trusted garage and then it will be a case of finding a local Citroen specialist (Stourbridge area anyone?) to tackle the rear bearings etc.

Try "Drydens" In Rednal not far away (next to the Rover factory), although would be nice to find out if anybody here knows of any others in these parts

Also nice to see I'm not the only person to have bought a car from an advert with some "omissions" :)

Im sure Jon would have bought the car anyway and its only me being a little more experienced in buying them thats mentioned it.
Sadly as I was working so I couldnt go and view it myself but on the whole a nice car which needs a bit of work as does any 20 year old Citroen.
