BX GTI 4x4 Breaking For Spares in Bradford.

Post by Tim Leech »

A Citroen enthusiast has had his workshop broken into, Mike Harker from the visa forum tells me a friend of his had (not Mike himself) a low loader and a vehicle stolen plus at least 4 cars cut up for scrap!! a Visa GTi and a 1.9 BX GTi 4x4 have suffered the least damage having had their roofs cut off  , bonnets and boot lids removed. With no keys or documentation available they cleared the building of anything they could sell plus all scrap metal including the buildings copper water pipes.

As you imagine whats left will be going to scrap, but if someone can make use of whats left of the GTi then get in touch. The chap is rather distraught as you imagine so any interested parties please be sensitive.

To make things worse, they used HIS van to clear the stuff with and borrowed some of his Citroen overalls so they looked the part, in daylight hours so noone thought anything un toward.

Pikeys we expect but I doubt anyone will be caught.

I think he would be happy just to get anything back for it Deano as its worthless as a car as it has no roof. I dont know what condition its in etc, but surely may yield some spares.

BX596, I thought that your 4x4 had sold? Putting the two together certainly seems like a worthwhile exercise, if it hasn't sold.

It isn't Mike Harker, but someone else. I think Tim's post is a little ambiguous. Still, it's a great shame and a sad indicement of our ruined society.

There just isn't a word to describe that is there? It's not just the wanton vandalism but the total disregarded of other people's feelings just to turn a few quid. I'm not too keen on the 'c' word and I'll probaly refrain from using it now, but under those circumstances it seems an entirely fitting word to describe those c . . .

I can pop over to take a look for anybody as its only half an hour down the road from me? Could poss store at the farm for stripping, also the Visa .
Must be more use to us guys and my pals on th eVisa forum than just getting squashed.

Some people are scum :!:

The bonnet and boot aren't metal and the Bx roof is so thin that I bet there isn't even £1 scrap value in it.

Hopefully one persons loss will benefit another 4x4 to live on.

Any spares that can be saved off the 4x4 should be!! Many oily bits, subframes and certain hydraulic parts etc are 4x4 specific, even the carpet in the boot is specific to the 4x4!

If I was over there I'd have it!
