It stayed dry. I even got sunburn! The light was terrible, my HTC has a terrible camera and I'm a terrible photographer. However, I think most of these actually look like vehicles.
Mostly Olde and not-so-olde English, American and German cars and a world domination bid from the Toyota Celica club. Apart from the tiny weeny Citroen contingent, rest of Europe very absent. Anyway, I had a lovely time pottering around.
The famous 6K "barn" find. Sorry I didn't get any pics of the interior, but it is very nice:
So, it got to 3.45 very-ish and they called the numbers of the winners of the various classes to come down to the arena. Mike's DS23 was in that list and "ooh" we all (4 of us, Patrick & Franklin had left by then) thought, he's won Best Classic Car, nice one. But no ... Best Classic car went to a yellow effort that I didn't take a picture of. Mike's won Best in Show - very well deserved, but with all the better known "icons" there, a surprise I think.
The um, thing (tricycle effort) behind the DS won shed of show
Took about 6 shots of the presentation and annoying man in red T-shirt was in the way in ALL Of them.
Winnah!
Would have been rude not to take a pic of these:
... quite a scratch on n/s/f wing sadly
Beige
Now THIS is a proper Beetle, with genuine rust and everything
Pix tacky IMO even if they are "period" - but otherwise noice
Rovers
Just ... whoa
My dad was a member of the pre-1940 Triumph Owners' Club, who always used to rather sneer and look down on MGs. Dad, in the unlikely event you ever see this, I'm sorry. But I actually always rather liked them.
Yes, I KNOW, but but but but but ...
Just ... cute!
Well, hello you little minx ... 60K on the clock, as shiny as it looks, guy said he was the second owner and had acquired it only a few weeks previously. Yes, I did call him a lucky bastard
Gas guzzler shite:
Bring me dalmations NAO
I did very like the Pontiac ... others are a Mustang and Chevy Chrysler for those who are squinting to tell, or who like me would need sight of the badges on the back to be 100% sure)
Fail ...
... because this (parked next to it) is WIN
Out of all the eleventy-hundred Celicas there, this is the one I would have taken home ...
