Re: DIY Manual Choke Conversion
Hi guys, 2 questions how much different is this on a solex carb & have you found it to have been a worthwhile exercise. Only mine is chronic on start up / initial tick over until it warms up & possibly over chocking as it can be heavy on petrol.

Just been on fleabay and the cable says sale ended so just looking at the other cables on there. Presume the 1.5m lenght might be important so am checking them out. Ordering the other parts though.

Re: DIY Manual Choke Conversion
Mine has been a resounding success all round.
The 1.5mtr is the ideal length, no shorter, but upto 1.8 will be fine.

Re: DIY Manual Choke Conversion
Yep, as i said at the begining mine is a Weber. There should be a way to make it work, you just have to think your way round the mechanics of it. Try posting up a couple of pics of your linkage.

Re: DIY Manual Choke Conversion
I will do Jay, I tried to remove the autochoke but couldnt see any way to attach the cable plus no where for it to feed through either as the autochoke sits lower then the throttle cable on the solex.

Re: DIY Manual Choke Conversion
If you'd clicked onto the sellers 'See Other Items' link you could have easily checked out the seller has RE-LISTED the item, as they seem to have plenty to sell !Preacher wrote:Just been on fleabay and the cable says sale ended so just looking at the other cables on there. Also note that the item is listed with the feature 'Make an Offer' and looking at the previous listed SOLD items, its seems that they'll accepted £8.00 saving you 95p on the 'BIN' price !

Mines the 1.6 as well though Tim, with the solex as well, so if yours no good, can collect it to check.
