Ahh, so that is the reason why my Activa brakes are so rubbish then. Someone took the pump away and put an ignition coil in it's place :lol:

Even worse, my TD Xantia has not got one either, the hole is blanked off :D

Mind you, he is not completely wrong though. Many XUD powered Pugs and the like with conventionaly brakes did indeed use this same pump to provide vacuum to the brake servo.

Ah, but my C5 Hdi does have a vacuum pump, as it has conventional brakes, not ones that run from the high pressure hydraulics......

All HDi xantias & some XUD's had vaccum pumps to opperate the EGR & fast idle system.
