Going to asess the car and make a decison Billy, I dont like changing panels unless I have too as they are never exactly the same colour. However I have been offered a full set of leader doors for a very reasonable sum so if they are shot I will ustilise them, talking of doors on a BX do they just unbolt from inside the door?, I know you can knock the door pins out but there always a pain.

MOT is booked for 4pm Monday to see if its sound before I start tackling the costmetics.

Very easy to remove doors, least from a Mk2 they are, and can be done as a one man job if neccessary.
Forgot about the colour change, as you say even if they`re the same colour they`re likely to have faded differently.
From the pictures of the car I think fibreglass would do the job possibly with a light skim of filler over the top. That way when you spray the the repairs in afterwards you can go down the bottom of all the doors and it`ll look ok because of the darker colour. Reckon you could mask the `Leader` decals off easily enough and the lighter colour inside the doors would be a piece of cake.

Billy how do you take doors off then mate? Could do with taking the 16v drivers one off to tidy up the hinges and sort that dent out.

Iirc just a matter of undoing the bolts by the hinge and twatting the pin out afterwards. If you`re steady you can do this yourself without too much trouble. I`ll have a look tomorrow and see if I can remember how to do it.
Is this a first btw, someone asking me a technical question :?:

You gota remove the pins Tim, it's easy as hell to do, assuming you got the right tool.

I've changed thousands of BX doors, it takes minutes...

Cheers

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

I have the `proper` tool (Machine Mart) but it`s neither use nor ornament. I`m almost certain I used a screwdriver and a hammer last time and it was a p*ss easy job.

Shouldn't be surprised as it's "technically" about the application of force. The hammer multiplies the potential force that the screwdriver can apply! :D 8)
