OK, so the car 'owed me' around £2,000. So you can imagine I was relieved to get £1,350 - if not actually 'thriilled'...
If I was sure I wouldn't have to spend another grand more than I had expected on a valver as soon as I acquired it, then I might think £1,300 - or as might happen in this no reserve auction, £1,000 - was a fair price. And there's a fairly big chance that the few months and few thousand miles added to this car since I rather rashly threw buckets of money and expertise (not mine!) at it makes it a reasonable bet.
At the end of the day (hang on, I hate that phrase!
*EDIT* It sold then, for somewhere (by the look of it) between £1,000 and £1,300...
Wonder if the new owner will join this club!
