Welcome Maxlee, perhaps change your starting price if you want to sell, otherwise an excellent idea to just keep the car & sort out the problems. You could even run her for a year & sell her on for probably more than you would have had to invest. Glad you arent going to just go ahead & scrap the car, most have met their fate when just a few repairs would have sorted them out, but it seems to be the easy way these days.

All the best with the sale or if you change your mind :D

I agree as you wouldn't wish to reduce loading headroom and presumably the lower level headlining would have to continue back at the same level. Rear drains could be problematic as well.

Do you believe the official Citroen accessory, tilting sunroof, is fitted at the factory? I would have thought this is outsourced after car production but I also may be wrong. :?

I once took my first BX estate to a local company for a sunroof fitting, the guy there advised me not to have one fitted as the only kit that was available wouldn't really be any good. He said the distance between the outer roof and the inner lining was too great for the kits they had and the head lining would just keep popping down out of the plastic studs and sockets.

This is how I've found all the BX estates that have been so fitted including this one here. /\

hello

there were some bx Break / Estate made by Heuliez with a special luxury dress called ' BUFFALO ' with dark leather or brown leather (the most expensive , 12000 FF in 1987 just for the leather) . All the Break / Estate Bx were made in their factory in Cerisay in the west part of France, in cooperation with Citroën . A very few of them (maybe 10 or 20) had this special luxury 'dress'. If you took this 'option' for leather in an Estate, you could also order 3 wood panels (about 2500 FF ), chrome roof attachments (not dark, 1500 FF) , a special 'Heuliez' color, for example red gold metallic, a big WEBASTO (partner company from Heuliez) sliding sun roof (about 3000 FF)......More information are on french 'BX World forum' on the WEB ...The trouble of these bx estate 22 years after 1987 is the illness against metallic parts, more or less, everywhere...I would appreciate to post photos of this sunroof, but i don't understand how to do this here....

Bonjour Columbo!

very interesting information about the Heuliez 'Buffalo' - I've only ever seen pictures. I notice that your location is in 'Alsace' - that is just the other side of The Rhine from where I am in Germany.
Do you know Remy then as he is also a resident of Alsace? Also he has found, I think, two Heuliez Buffalos - one of which was finished in a scrap yard and the other that was bought by 'The President' of BXWorld ( the French forum) and perhaps is still 'alive?' You don't - by any chance - live in Strasbourg?
Good that we have another Central European member!
Todd
