Perhaps, but I'm damned if I know where! Am I missing something?
mat_fenwick wrote:I think the logic for putting separate speakers in the dash is because the high frequency sounds are more directional, so it helps to have them closer to your ears. Whether it makes a noticeable difference in a moving car is another matter...
You've almost hit the nail on the head. Yes, high frequencies are much more directional, but the main problem is that the high frequencies are much weaker (which is why you can hear a chav's subwoofer 3 streets away...). Having tweeters closer to your ears means you can hear the high frequencies better. Having tweeters down in the footwell is less than ideal for both of these reasons.
mat_fenwick wrote:I think the door speakers are not firmly mounted enough - so that energy is lost by vibrating the door panel rather than projecting outwards. So if your modified door panels are better in that respect I'd be tempted to keep them.
Well... my door speaker surrounds seem modified only in the "someone snapped the grilles and left an ugly hole"-way, which is (if the perpetrator is reading this, forgive me) naff.

As well as, they came as part of the same spec. The rear speakers were utter shite though, they last about the first 30 seconds of a Sisters of Mercy track at reasonable volume.

They are featured in this brochure that came with my TRD - to the right hand side. It seems to be an early form of back seat/child entertainment as that kid's sat there wearing headphones! :D Maybe you could pipe music separately to the back?

One man's reasonable is another man's ...... ? Perhaps Citroen knew what they were doing. I remember I fixed my own rear speakers in the back C post of my 14RE 20 years ago. When I got out at a filling station, the music outside the car was as loud as the music in the car.

Nothing there to absorb the sound !

Before I get too excited...

Big puddle of LHM dripping slowly (as in very) from the centre crossbeam below the engine. Much more towards the scuttle than the radiator. Please don't anyone mention 8 limbed aquatic creatures... :(

Rear nearside footwell full of water - seems to be because the door doesn't come close to sealing at the top, but it looks like the door rather than the seal. I'll get brother to give it a bending - he's good at that. I think the nearside doors will both want replacing, but hopefully not yet. I found the water with my car vac, which doesn't seem too happy about it... :( Everywhere else seems dry, though.

Boot was full of wood-shavings and cardboard- I think there's been a bottle of LHM leaked in there, as it there's that feel/smell about the wood-shavings (possibly used to soak up the LHM?) and the boot carpet. More investigation to follow, but at least all the crap is out of the boot.

Non working brake-light turned out to be only the bulb. Finally some good news :)

A Sharp VZ 2500, 3000 or 3500, no doubt. I've always wanted one, no idea why

It might not be the door seal, it could be a blocked drain tube or 2, which then causes the tray in the headlining to fill up with water until it tips over the side & it then ends up in the rear footwell. I had the exact same problem on my tzd, infact a shed load of water came out of where the rear speaker was in the c pillar, it was quite an amazing site seeing it literally pissing out like it was connected to a tap, a good litre plus came spewing out. Once i'd unblocked the tubes, no further problems of water ingress :D Do you know how to go about unblocking the rear drain tubes?

I'd not thought about that, but I guess it is possible, though it is only that one footwell - everywhere else is dry - and that door definitely isn't sealing right. It could conceivably be both things though, so it is definitely worth investigating - thanks.
