Ok, that's good to know. I'll check through the history to see if it's been done.

Mine has done nearly 280000, but the engine was swapped and has done more like 180000, so it should be ok?

Thanks for the info.

As long as they check it physically, but it'll probably be ok. If it has been replaced it may need to be again, because the non oe replacements are lesser quality.

My son in law got my spheres done at Westroen, while I was away in Sweden a couple of years back. He says although it's all done professionally, he works from his home. You just drive round the back and he has a couple of bays set up for the job. Also you get an appointment time and they do them while you wait. 1 in 1 out sort of thing.

As far as Cit dealers are concerned. I have used Rigbye's at Eccleston (Chorley) for years. I generally get most of my OE parts from them and they are about the best dealership in the country. It's a family firm run by 4 brothers.
I generally do all work myself though, I mean why pay a mechanic to do jobs I can do better myself.
We just did a headgasket on Dereks 2 liter HDI Picasso. Quoted prices:- between 9 and 12 hundred pounds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It cost me £245 for all the parts and stuff to service mine as well.
That included gaskets, Cam belt, Aux belt, w/pump and tensioner.Air and fuel filters, oil and oil filters.
OK it was a bastard of a job and took us 4 days, but saving £1000... no contest.

Timing belt (plus, sadly the tensioner) fitted.

The guys in Reddish are really friendly.

Very true. It wasn't like I wasn't wanting to have it done anyway, just that they were surprised it needed doing.
