Oddly enough, Citroen fitted hardened valve seats anyway, which cope well enough with regular driving, it's only when the engine is really ragged you'd need either a lead substitute or higher octane fuel.
It's largely down to unleaded not burning aswell as "proper" planet killing fuel.
4 star is still available in small quantities over here, but at £4+ per litre you'd have to be REALLY rich to fill the car up with that!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

If the car has a knock sensor, you can run it on 95 OK.

The later cat and Non-cat 16Vs have knock sensors.

LRP has not been available in UK for about 8 years.

We always get 95 and 98 and sometimes 99/100 RON.

Most people buy diesel cars nowadays because the whole country is going broke.

The reality is, it is broke - seems though most people don't know or care! A decade of ++ inflation though, and we'll all feel better off with the debt devalued ;-)
